Business Card Holder Card Case Muryoka Yamabuki よつめ染布舎
This business card case is made using the traditional "katazome" stencil-dyeing technique.
All pieces are handcrafted by artisans, so each one develops its own character even with the same pattern.
The pattern outlines may wobble or the dyeing may vary
—those “irregularities” bring out expressions and warmth that digital production can’t recreate.
*Because the appearance of the pattern changes depending on the cutting location, you cannot choose the exact position of the design. Please understand this in advance.
A business card case that sparks conversation

When you think of business card cases, plain leather ones are the norm.
But this card case makes an immediate impression.
There will surely be moments when someone says, "That’s a lovely business card case."
Easy to use
When opened, there are pockets on both sides, so you can separate your cards from the recipient’s, carry two different kinds of cards, or use it however you like. It’s useful not only as a business card case but also as a card holder for organizing point cards.
Each one made with care

The business card cases are made by "Yotsume Senpukusha".
At this dye workshop, they apply patterns to fabric using traditional Japanese techniques like "katazome" and "tsutsugaki", then use that fabric as material to create products such as business card cases.
They start by creating an original stencil for the design. The stencil is placed on the fabric and a paste made from glutinous rice, rice bran, and similar ingredients is brushed on. The areas covered by the paste do not take the dye and remain the white parts of the pattern.
Paste is applied freehand as if piping whipped cream. Like katazome, the pasted areas stay white, but tsutsugaki’s major characteristic is the freedom of expression unique to hand-drawing.
For either technique, the subsequent steps are the same.
Once the paste has dried, dye is applied with brushes. For a single color it can be done in one pass, but for multi-color finishes, colors are layered one by one much like painting.
Finally, washing away the paste with water reveals the pattern sharply, and after drying the piece is complete.
Through this long process a single piece of fabric is completed and then transformed into a business card case.
Patterns you can only find here

All patterns from "Yotsume Senpukusha" are original. That’s why these designs are only available here.
The pattern used for this card case, called "Muryoka", is actually an imaginary flower conceived by Yutaka Ono of Yotsume Senpukusha. Because this floral motif was born from the creator’s imagination and does not exist in reality, it’s a special design you can only get here.
The color is a vivid yamabuki yellow. This bright yellow, reminiscent of spring light, will lift the mood of the person who carries it.
