The traditional craft continuing from the Meiji era: "Dyeing" technique

Kamawanu's handkerchiefs are made using the uniquely Japanese dyeing technique called "Chusen (tie-dye)" which has continued since the Meiji era. By preventing the dye from penetrating certain areas and pouring the dye all at once, the fabric becomes reversible and usable without a back side, which is a distinctive feature.

Due to the handcrafting process, subtle "playfulness" appears in the colors and patterns, and the more you use it, the more the texture changes. Each piece develops a unique expression and grows into a presence like a close companion that becomes familiar.
