A Japanese beauty that makes writing enjoyable

Watoji (Japanese stitched binding) is a traditional Japanese bookbinding technique. Threads tightly bind the paper, uniting the front and back covers into one notebook.

The handmade notebooks, carefully stitched, have a charm that deepens the more you use them with a pleasant feeling.
Because the threads are tightly sewn, the pages do not easily come loose, allowing long-term use with care.
They are compatible with fountain pens and pencils, and offer a smooth writing experience. Perfect for diaries, travel journals, sketchbooks, poetry collections, idea notes, and more, they turn everyday writing into a special moment.
The charm of hand-dyed paper stands out in the details

The hand-dyed Japanese paper used in this stitched notebook is carefully crafted one by one by skilled artisans at a specialized workshop in Kyoto.
The deep colors and unique blends achieved by traditional techniques are truly captivating.

Looking closely at the edges, you can sense the layered colors unique to hand-dyeing.
Subtle gradations and shading create a unique harmony that only handmade work can bring, expressing a one-of-a-kind beauty.

Each edition is carefully dyed, giving rise to a warmth and depth that cannot be expressed by simple printing alone.
Every detail is crafted with care to bring out the beauty of Japanese tradition. Each time you use it, you can feel the meaning of Japanese craftsmanship and traditional patterns.

Experience the charm of this harmony and warmth brought to life by the artisan’s handiwork.
Wishes and prayers woven into the Ichimatsu pattern

Ichimatsu pattern, the beauty of tradition
If the colored squares are tightly and neatly woven, they appear to be moving gently.
The Ichimatsu pattern looks as if life itself has been breathed into it.
Ichimatsu pattern, named after the kabuki actor Ichimatsu San of the Edo period, became particularly popular among women when he appeared in white and red costumes with the checkered design.
Previously called Ishidatami pattern, Ichimatsu pattern became so popular that it was renamed and widely loved.
Even today, the main character’s green and black checkered design in the manga "Demon Slayer" transcends generations and remains beloved by many.

The green series in a calm tone,

and the warm red series in two colors. Both have individuality while harmonizing beautifully, making them perfect as colorful items for everyday writing.
※ Because the large sheets are cut to size, there are individual differences in the placement of the pattern. Please understand this in advance.
