Traditional patterns and craftsmanship intertwined, beautiful and practical pen cases

The "Pattern of Happiness" series is an original design that brings to life the meaning behind traditional Japanese patterns wishing for happiness, created together with a textile designer.

One of the patterns, Seigaiha (blue ocean waves), symbolizes the wish for "everlasting prosperity" and "family fortune," like waves continuing forever.

We designed it as a modern piece that dyes the good motifs of tradition with a contemporary lifestyle.

Exquisite craftsmanship: Each piece carefully handmade at a traditional Kyoto box-making workshop
Modern traditional patterns: Enjoy selecting from six pattern types and two color variations
Highly practical: Perfect for pen cases, eyeglass cases, and small item holders
Also ideal as a refined gift: The "Pattern of Happiness" conveys special thoughts

Pen cases that neatly store all your essentials

Our pen cases have just the right size to hold various writing instruments like fountain pens, ballpoint pens, and mechanical pencils.

If it's a ballpoint pen, about five can be stored, and you can also neatly organize rulers and erasers.

Not only for pens and pencils, but also great for eyeglass cases, accessory cases, or carrying small first aid kits and sewing kits, making it a versatile item.

With a solid box construction, it protects the contents well and is durable for long-term use. It’s a beloved item you’ll want to carry every day.

Beautiful design usable inside and out

The beauty when opened is also a point; the inside bottom uses hand-dyed Japanese paper with the Seigaiha pattern. The color scheme balanced with the outer pattern gives a refined impression.

The bottom uses simple, undyed paper.

While highlighting the beauty of the paper, it also creates a calm atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy a different expression between the outside and inside.

With meticulous craftsmanship and smooth opening and closing, you’ll feel the care put into it every time you use it.

Craftsmanship that makes hand-dyed paper truly stand out

The hand-dyed Japanese paper used in this pen case is carefully crafted one by one by skilled craftsmen at a specialized workshop in Kyoto.

The deep colors and unique blending created through traditional techniques are their charm.

Looking closely at the paper, you can feel the subtle layering of colors unique to hand-dyeing.

Subtle gradations and nuances create a unique blend that cannot be replicated by machine work, expressing unparalleled beauty.

Each copy is carefully dyed, giving it depth and warmth that cannot be expressed by simple prints alone.

The hand-dyed Japanese paper with printed patterns is carefully handmade by Kyoto box craftsmen one by one. Each subtle difference in appearance expresses your unique sense of style.

We invite you to experience the charm of this blend of warmth and tradition created by the craftsmen’s hands.

Wishes and prayers woven into the Seigaiha pattern

The infinite waves symbolize abundance

Large and small waves overlapping like scales form the pop design of Seigaiha.

For people living near the sea worldwide, the ocean is a great source of motivation, and this design can be seen not only in Japan but also in Egypt and Persia.

The pattern appeared in the Heian period’s "Genji Monogatari" and was popular among commoners in the Edo period.

The abundant blessings and infinite symbols of good fortune have made it beloved as a motif for wedding celebrations and housewarming gifts.

The colors are a gentle blue series,

and a warm brown series in two color variations. Both have individuality and are perfect as colorful desk accessories.

※ Because large sheets are cut to make these, there may be individual differences in the placement of the paper. Please understand this in advance.
