Dyeing Technique of Artisans Continuing from the Meiji Era

Kamafun's handkerchiefs are made using the uniquely Japanese dyeing technique called "Chusen" (immersion dyeing), which has been passed down since the Meiji era. This method involves immersing the fabric in dye all at once without using any resist, allowing it to be used reversibly without showing the back side.

During the handcrafting process, subtle variations called "play" occur in the colors and patterns, and the more you use it, the more the tone changes. Each piece grows into a unique existence with expressions that no other can replicate, becoming like a close companion.
