Elegant and Gorgeous, Japanese Classic Cloth

Since the Heian period, the “Kurobuta (Black Grass)” valued as a medicinal herb, fragrance, and dye, combined with “Tōgusa (Rush Grass),” which is wished for grandchildren's prosperity and longevity, creates a high-quality design reminiscent of a certain retro style.

The material is 100% silk, soft to the touch and richly textured. The warmth you feel every time you touch it is a feature unique to natural materials.

The delicate Tōgusa pattern is elegant without being flashy, perfect for kicchin or outings, and suits any scene. Of course, as a hand towel, it is wonderful for wrapping lunch, as a tapesty, or as an accent around the neck.
The Dyeing Technique of Craftsmen Continuing from the Meiji Era

Kamawanu's handwoven cloth has been made using the unique Japanese dyeing technique called “Chūsen (Resist Dyeing)” continuously since the Meiji era. By placing a resist material and applying dye all at once, it can be used reversibly without a backing, which is a distinctive feature.

Due to the process during handcrafting, subtle “variations” appear in the colors and cloth, changing with use. Each piece has a unique expression, growing into an existence like a mutual companion that deepens with time.
