Traditional Patterns and Craftsman Techniques Combine to Create Beautiful and Practical Tea Caddies

The "Pattern of Happiness" series is an original design created by Fuwa Market, a textile designer who draws inspiration from the traditional Japanese patterns that embody the meaning of wishing for happiness.

One of the motifs in the series is the Nanten plant, which has long been cherished as a plant for "warding off evil" and "repelling misfortune."

We have designed modern tea caddies that incorporate this good luck motif into contemporary lifestyle styles.

Meticulous Craftsman Techniques: Each piece is carefully handcrafted at a specialized workshop.
Modern Traditional Patterns: Enjoy the fun of choosing from 6 types of patterns and 2 colors.
Double-layered Construction: The double-layered structure of the outer and inner lids preserves the freshness and aroma of the tea.
Also Ideal as a High-quality Gift: The "Pattern of Happiness" conveys special thoughts.

Beautifully Protect Tea Leaves for a Rich Tea Time

The tea caddy holds 150g. The material is lightweight yet sturdy stainless steel. Its high light-blocking property prevents the tea leaves’ flavor from deteriorating due to light exposure.

The inner lid is also made of stainless steel with high sealing properties, protecting the tea leaves from moisture and preserving their freshness. You can always enjoy delicious tea. The inner lid has a handle for easy opening and closing.

The airtightness also helps preserve ingredients sensitive to moisture and temperature, such as powdered tea, tea bags, herbal teas, coffee beans, dried foods, spices, and sweets.

You can also combine it with your favorite sweets or tea to create a petite gift, or use it as a small storage container.

This item is perfect for quietly stopping by during your daily tea time, combining elegance and practicality.

A Distinctive Design with the Charm of Hand-dyed Washi Paper

The hand-dyed washi paper used on this tea caddy is an original design by Fuwa Market. Skilled craftsmen at a specialized workshop in Kyoto handcraft each piece one by one using traditional washi dyeing techniques.

The deep colors and unique blends created by traditional techniques are enchanting. When you look closely at the paper, you can feel the subtle layering of colors unique to hand-dyed work.

The subtle gradations and nuances bring out a unique beauty that cannot be replicated by machine-made products.

Each edition is carefully dyed and finished, creating a depth and warmth that simple prints cannot express.

Every detail is carefully crafted to highlight the beauty of Japanese tradition. Each time you use it, you can feel the meaning of traditional patterns and the craftsmanship of Japanese artisans.

Please experience the charm of this unique blend and warmth created by the craftsmen’s handiwork.

Wishes and Prayers Embedded in the Nanten Pattern

Nanten for Warding Off Evil

Nanten is a plant that has been passed down from China during the Heian period and valued as a medicinal herb that suppresses evil spirits since ancient times.

It is cherished as a plant that bears many bright red berries from late autumn to early winter and is associated with the wish to “turn hardships into blessings.”

Also, placing it near the entrance is believed to prevent bad spirits from entering, symbolizing its meaning as a ward against evil.

In the Edo period’s encyclopedia of natural sciences, it is said that “planting Nanten prevents fires,” and many households planted it in their gardens as a protective presence to guard the family’s safety.

The colors are displayed in a warm red series,

and a gentle blue series. While the colors blend harmoniously, each has its own character, making them perfect items to brighten your tea time.

※ Because large sheets are cut to make these, there may be individual differences in the placement of the pattern. Please understand this in advance.
