The "Pattern of Happiness" series is an original design born from traditional Japanese patterns imbued with the meaning of wishing for happiness, combined with a textile designer's vision.
One of the patterns is the plum blossom, loved by people since ancient times for its beauty, vitality, nobility, and fragrant elegance.
We designed a modern style that infuses the good motifs of tradition into contemporary lifestyle.

✔ Modern traditional patterns: Enjoy choosing from 3 types of patterns × 2 color variations
✔ High durability: Made with thick, flat-weave cotton fabric (No. 11), durable and long-lasting

Add a touch of Japanese elegance to your daily outings.
The captivating charm of hand-dyeing artisan techniques

Gamaguchi features original textile designs by Fuwa Market.
Made from domestically produced cotton fabric "Fujikinbai" brand, a traditional cotton fabric with a rich history, each piece is carefully hand-dyed using a precious shaft weaving machine.

At a Kyoto dyeing workshop, artisans hand-dye each piece of this high-quality cotton fabric with great care.
The traditional technique creates a deep color tone and a unique harmony that is truly captivating.

Looking closely at the fabric, you can feel the weight of the colors unique to hand-dyeing. The subtle gradations and nuances drawn by handcrafting bring out a one-of-a-kind beauty.
Each piece is carefully dyed one by one, creating depth and warmth that cannot be expressed by simple printing.

Every detail is carefully crafted, highlighting the beauty of Japanese tradition. Each time you use it, you can feel the meaning of Japanese artisan techniques and traditional patterns.
We hope you will experience the charm and warmth of this harmony created by the artisan’s handiwork.
Wishes and prayers woven into the plum blossom pattern

Plum blossoms wishing for health and protection from calamities
A delicate flower blooming in the cold wind and snow, with a faint sweet fragrance, heralding the early arrival of spring.
The calm winter scenery’s red, pink, and white gentle colors evoke a breath of life.
In Japan’s oldest anthology of songs, the "Manyoshu," many poems feature plum blossoms as a theme, enchanting people since ancient times.
The plum blossom is associated with the origin of the traditional tea "Daifuku-cha," a tea made by brewing dried plum and kombu seaweed, originally drunk by Emperor Murakami during the Heian period when he was ill, and became a ritual to pray for a year of health and protection from disease.

The colors include warm red tones,

and bright, pop yellow tones in two color variations.
While the colors harmonize softly, they each have personality, making them perfect as colorful items for daily life. The Japanese modern design also pairs well with kimono and traditional clothing.
※ Because the fabric is cut from large pieces, there are individual differences in the placement of the patterns. Please understand this.
