Light and refined handwoven fabric with a high-quality texture

This is handwoven twill hemp fabric made by weaving warp threads with twill and weft threads with hemp. The design, featuring birds and Torikarakusa motifs, evokes a Japanese aesthetic while also giving a modern impression.

The twill hemp material is characterized by a smooth touch and a light, gentle texture. The more you use it, the more it softens to your skin, increasing comfort.

With a crisp feel when handled and used for table runners or placemats, it serves as an interior accent, and also as a fashionable accessory like a stole or headband.
This is a piece that lives through everyday life with a calm and understated charm.
Traditional dyeing technique "Chusen" passed down from the Meiji era

Kamawanu's handwoven fabric is made using the Japanese traditional dyeing technique called "Chusen," which has been passed down since the Meiji period. By placing resist paste to prevent dye penetration and then dyeing in one go, it is possible to create reversible fabrics without a front or back side, which is a distinctive feature.

Due to the handmade process, subtle variations in color and patterns occur, and the texture changes the more you use it. Each piece develops a unique expression and grows into a presence that feels like a complementary match.
