The Traditional Dyeing Technique "Chusen" Passed Down from the Meiji Era

Kamawanu gloves are made using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique "Chusen," which has been passed down since the Meiji period. By placing a resist on the fabric and dyeing it all at once, it creates a reversible fabric that can be used inside and out without seams.

Due to the handmade process, subtle variations in color and patterns occur, and the fabric’s character changes the more it is used. Each piece develops a unique expression, growing into a presence that complements one another like a pair.
