Continuous Craftsmanship of Dyeing from the Meiji Era

Kamanu’s hand towels are made using the unique Japanese dyeing technique called "Chusen" that has been passed down since the Meiji period. By placing a resist agent and applying dye all at once, the towels can be used reversibly without showing the back side, which is a distinctive feature.

Due to the manufacturing process, slight "variations" occur in colors and patterns, changing with use. Each piece grows into a unique existence with expressions that never repeat, much like a companion that becomes dearer over time.
