Because all dyeing is done by hand, there are individual differences in dye penetration and color application.

Some color irregularities or uneven dyeing may be visible in places, but this is part of the unique charm of hand dyeing, so we hope you will appreciate it.

[Wax Application] Left Side

Using stencil paper, wax (boisenori) is carefully applied to areas where you want to leave some fabric uncolored.

The presence of this wax prevents the dye from penetrating the fabric, allowing the stencil outlines to stand out clearly.

[Dyeing (Hand Dyeing)] Right Side

Using a tool called "Yakan," dye is poured from above in a controlled process.

The dyed color penetrates deeply into the fabric, creating a beautiful finish without a back side.

The individual variations and slight smudges are part of the charm of hand dyeing.

[Washing] Left Side

The dyed cloth is carefully washed in water to remove excess dye and paste without damaging the fabric.

This washing process causes some color to fade gently, creating a soft and harmonious blend.

[Drying] Right Side

After washing, the cloth is hung high and dried naturally with wind and sunlight.

The gently fluttering appearance in the breeze is one of the beautiful scenes unique to hand dyeing.
