About the Materials

She is the sixth generation of the Takechu woodblock printing family.

As a professional, she produces works infused with polished technique and sensitivity, and also applies her skills as an illustrator for Takechudo's original products.

Her style is characterized by a continuous pattern like textile, mainly focusing on woodblock prints, but she also offers a wide range of designs including framed prints and fabric exhibitions.

Her work is widely recognized in the media, and she continues to develop new areas in woodblock printing.

About the Brand "Takechudo"

Takechu woodblock printing was founded in Kyoto in 1891, and for over 130 years has inherited various Kyoto printing techniques ranging from mass production of Japanese prints to commercial printing.

Currently, the head, Kiyohachi Takechu, studies old techniques and teaches young craftsmen. The fifth generation, Kenji Takechu, established Takechudo and created new work styles, selling woodblock prints and paper stationery at the store.

The sixth generation, Sugako Harada, blends tradition with modern design, gaining popularity, and Takechudo continues to grow.

Currently, they handle products utilizing woodblock prints, packages, and restoration of old prints, constantly pursuing new possibilities.
