The dyeing technique "Chusen" passed down from the Meiji era craftsmen

Kamafune's handkerchiefs are made using the Japanese-exclusive dyeing technique called “Chusen” that has been passed down since the Meiji era. The technique involves placing resist paste to prevent dye from penetrating and then dyeing the fabric in one go, allowing it to be used reversibly without a front or back side.

During the handmade process, subtle “playfulness” appears in the colors and patterns, and the texture changes the more you use it. Each piece grows into a unique presence that has no equal, like a rival that never fades.

[Regarding Care]

・Both ends of the handkerchief are unfinished without hemming. To prevent fraying when you start using it, please cut the horizontal threads with scissors or similar. After washing 2 to 3 times, the fraying will settle down and become less noticeable.

[Regarding Washing]

・When washing, please wash thoroughly by hand with water, gently stretch the fabric, avoid direct sunlight, and dry.
・Avoid leaving the fabric soaking for a long time.
・At the beginning of use, some excess dye may come off, but after washing 2 to 3 times, it will settle.
・Using bleach can cause rapid color fading.
・Using bleach-containing detergents or strong alkaline detergents may damage the fabric.
・Using hot water softens the handkerchief, but depending on the dye, wrinkles may appear and color fading may accelerate.

[Precautions]

・Occasionally, unique stains may appear on the handkerchief. Since these stains are often caused by the dye, please wash several times while reducing use. You can use it with peace of mind.
・Color variations may occur depending on the viewing environment.
