Jygimo Bag | Animals
A cute round-shaped bag called "koron" just like a jygimo.
Because it has a rounded bottom, it can hold plenty of items, making it practical and easy to put things in and take them out.
The fabric used for the bag is the makumo original raw fabric. Of course, the weaving is handmade, and even the design and dyeing of the raw fabric are done by hand, so you won't find such unique patterns and color schemes anywhere else.
At first glance, it looks like a botanical wood, but if you look closely, you can see designs depicting animals as motifs. It’s a bit unusual but cute, giving the bag a unique charm.

Gentle on the user

The jygimo bag is a large size with a mouth width of 40cm and a height of 30cm. Since it uses sturdy canvas raw fabric (woven), you can safely put a lot of items inside.
The opening has a fastener, which is a reassuring point as it securely protects the contents.
The shoulder strap is wrapped with quilted fabric for a comfortable feel.
Its length is adjustable, so you can use it as a tote bag or a shoulder bag.
Treasure the playful spirit

The inside of the bag is a vivid purple color.
Every time you put in or take out items, your heart is gently lifted—such a playful spirit is hidden inside the bag.
There is also an inner pocket, so you can neatly store small items.
Starting from the fabric design

The base is pure white canvas raw fabric.
Makumo’s bags start from the fabric design.
Designer Fukuyama graduated from a dyeing department at a molding school and gained experience in woodcut prints, which helped establish makumo. The patterns and colors born from her hands create a retro yet nostalgic atmosphere, fresh and distinctive.

Differences in expressions because it’s handmade

The person who shapes Fukuyama’s designs is Mr. Niiki.
The technique used is called "hand dyeing (tenassen)/silk screen." For each color, a stencil is made, and dye is brushed onto the raw fabric with a large brush called a squeegee, layering each color carefully one by one.
The dyed raw fabric has different expressions even with the same design, giving it depth and warmth that cannot be reproduced digitally.
After several processes, the finished fabric is shaped into the jygimo bag by the hands of weaving craftsmen.

■ Handling notes
Since all are handmade, there are slight individual differences in size and shape.
Please enjoy the unique expressions of each piece.
You may see "color bleeding" or "smudging" during hand dyeing.
Especially for umbrellas, due to the nature of the material, color transfer is more likely to occur.
If you enjoy the handmade feel, please accept this as part of its charm.
