Traditional patterns and artisan techniques intertwined, beautifully practical and charming

The “Pattern of Happiness” series is an original design born from the traditional Japanese patterns that embody the meaning of “wishing for happiness,” created together with a textile designer.

One of the patterns, the ginkgo leaf, carries the meanings of “flaming” and “calling for good fortune.”

We designed it as a modern motif that dyes the good fortune of beginnings into contemporary lifestyle.

Meticulous artisan techniques: Each piece carefully dyed at a dyeing workshop in Kyoto
Modern traditional patterns: Enjoy choosing from three types of patterns × two colors
High durability: Made with thick handwoven cotton canvas (No.11), durable and long-lasting
Also great as a high-quality gift: The “Pattern of Happiness” conveys special thoughts

Bringing the charm of Japan into everyday life

The ginkgo pouch is a vertical rectangular shape measuring 20cm × 16cm × 2.5cm (depth). It fits smartphones and mini wallets, with a slightly compact size perfect for going out just a little.

The wide opening makes the contents easy to see, and even when in a hurry, you can smoothly take out your belongings.

The shoulder strap is adjustable in length, fitting a wide range from petite women to taller women. It can be detached, so you can also use it as a pouch or small bag.

Perfect not only for everyday outings and shopping but also as a sub-bag during travel, or to match with bathrobes and kimono, adding a special touch to your day.

Adding a little Japanese color to your daily outings.

The charm of hand-dyeing stands out in artisan techniques

The ginkgo pouch features an original textile design.

Using domestically produced cotton canvas fabric from the brand “Fujikinbai,” a traditional cotton fabric, each piece is carefully handwoven using precious shuttle looms.

At a dyeing workshop in Kyoto, artisans hand-dye this high-quality cotton fabric piece by piece.

The deep colors and unique blends created by traditional techniques are truly captivating.

When you look closely at the fabric, you can feel the weight of the colors unique to hand-dyeing. The subtle gradations and nuanced blends created by handcraftsmanship express a one-of-a-kind beauty.

By dyeing each piece carefully, warmth and depth are born that cannot be expressed by simple prints.

The careful craftsmanship brings out the refined beauty of Japan in every detail. Each time you use it, you can feel the meaning of Japanese artisan techniques and traditional patterns.

We hope you will experience the charm of this blend of warmth and elegance born from artisan handiwork.

Wishes and prayers woven into the ginkgo leaf pattern

The ginkgo leaf: Flaming and calling for good fortune

The autumn street trees are ginkgo. Their fan-shaped leaves dye yellow like flames, and the streets glow like golden carpets.

It is a scenery that looks like a painting. This splendid ginkgo is very vital and some trees are over 1000 years old.

This vitality is said to be inhabited by sacred spirits, and ginkgo trees are often seen as sacred trees at temples and shrines.

People have long wished for longevity through its vitality, for good fortune through the spreading leaves, and for wealth through the golden-colored leaves, praying to the figure of the ginkgo tree.

The colors are a warm yellow series,

and a chic gray series with two colors.

While the colors blend softly, each has its own personality, making them perfect as colorful items for daily life. Because they are Japanese modern designs, they also match well with bathrobes and kimono.

※ Since the fabric is cut from large pieces, there may be individual differences in the pattern placement. Please understand this in advance.
