While cherishing tradition, the utensil designed with free imagination is somewhat different from the image of the conventional "Yachimun" (Okinawan pottery).

Each piece is carefully handcrafted in a small workshop in Okinawa, keeping in mind the feelings of the users.

Free design that does not adhere to tradition

"Yachimun," which means pottery in the Okinawan dialect, is said to have a history of over 6,000 years. Traditional styles include Tang-style and dot patterns, and they are still loved by many people today.

Among them, the utensil made by Issuigama (Issuigama) is a modern and pop design.
While valuing the traditional patterns and the warmth characteristic of Yachimun, Issuigama's Yachimun features a design that draws a clear line.

The "Soda" introduced this time is a unique piece that stands out.
The refreshing colors and playful design reminiscent of soda brighten up the table.

Of course, it is a stylish design that you will want to use as a container for small items as well.

Easy-to-use sizes and shapes

The main products are available in two sizes, "small size" and "medium size," both designed for everyday use.

The small size measures approximately 16.5cm (6.49in) by 11.5cm (4.52in).
It is large enough to be used widely, from grilled fish and sashimi to dashi broth, tomato caprese, and as a container for cookies.

The medium size measures approximately 20.5cm (8.07in) by 14.5cm (5.70in).
With a more spacious size, it is perfect for one-pot dishes like omelets and pasta, and also great for enjoying as a larger container dish.

■ Handling Precautions
Since each piece is handmade, shaped, painted, and fired individually, there may be slight differences in texture. We hope you enjoy these unique characteristics as part of the charm of the product. There are also individual differences on the backside.

Because the products are made of pottery, the glaze may change over time with repeated use, similar to denim. While many enjoy the aging of the flavor, if you want to maintain a condition close to new, we recommend performing "moku-dome" (sealing) before use. Also, due to the nature of pottery and handling, there may be cracks or chips. For details about the nature of pottery and care instructions, please check here (official).

Maker: Issuigama (Issuigama)

The workshop where these products are made is "Issuigama (Issuigama)," located in Yomitanson, central Okinawa, near the west coast.

Representative Hiroya Takasaka traveled to various countries such as India and Thailand after graduating from school, where he encountered pottery. Afterwards, he learned the craft and established Issuigama in 2005.

What Takasaka values is not just making utensils for cooking, but creating utensils that brighten the mood and make the experience enjoyable.
When the utensil is wonderful, the food looks delicious and the taste is felt especially special.

At Issuigama, production is carried out with great importance placed on the feelings of the user and the time born through the utensil.
