Yotsume Dyed Cloth Sail | Yotsume Dyed Cloth Sail Calendar 2026 - Depicting the Four Seasons of Japan and Everyday Nature
Yotsume Dyed Cloth Calendar 2026: A Year Depicting Japan's Four Seasons and Everyday Nature
The "Yotsume Dyed Cloth Calendar 2026" beautifully illustrates the four seasons and sunny landscapes of Japan.
Based on the meaning of katazome (stencil dyeing), the designs are printed with a special technique that brings a quality texture like a woodblock print.
The depth of the ink's graininess and intensity, achieved through this unique technique, differs from ordinary mass printing,
giving the paper a gentle warmth that softly breathes on its surface.
Each month uses different paper textures, allowing you to enjoy the changing tactile sensations and expressions.
With a size neither too large nor too small, it fits perfectly in living rooms, corridors, desks, or any space, subtly coloring the atmosphere.

Adding vivid colors to each season’s sunny days.

A size that gently colors your room without being too big or too small.

[Design & Production]
The designer and dyer behind this work is Mr. Yoichi Ono, who is active mainly in Hiroshima Prefecture.
After working in Oita Prefecture, he relocated his base to Goryo, Hiroshima, in spring 2025.
While deeply sensing the light, wind, and sounds of rain in nature, he carefully captures everyday scenery,
expressing the meaning of katazome and portraying "Japan's Four Seasons."
[Words from Mr. Ono at the end of the calendar]
"By rediscovering and directly observing Japan's rich four-season landscapes,
the design aims to focus on the natural changes and movements.
In April 2025, I relocated to Goryo, Hiroshima.
When the place you live changes, your entire daily life changes as well, and you become more aware of things you usually don't notice.
Things like the light of the sun and rain, the pleasantness of the wind—all the little details of everyday life come to mind especially.
In this 2026 calendar, I have tried to depict the natural everyday life and the four seasons of Japan."
