The utensil, designed with free imagination while cherishing tradition, is somewhat different from the image of the traditional "Yachimun".

While reflecting the feelings of the users, each piece is carefully crafted one by one in a small workshop in Okinawa.

Free design not bound by tradition

"Yachimun," which means pottery in the Okinawan language, is said to have a history of more than 6,000 years. Traditional forms include Tang grass patterns and dot motifs, and they are still loved by many people today.

Among them, the utensil made by Issuigama has a modern and pop touch somewhere.
While valuing the traditional patterns and the warmth typical of Yachimun, Issuigama's Yachimun is characterized by designs that draw a single line.

The "Shangrila" introduced this time is also a unique piece. Its somewhat academic pattern summarizes a Western atmosphere like Stendhal's glass while giving a sense of Japanese elements. Therefore, it can be used for Western or Japanese cuisine without choosing the type of dish.

Also, the bright color combinations such as yellow and orange and the chic color combinations unified in tea color are rarely seen in other Yachimun.

Of course, as a bowl, it is a lovely design that you would want to use even for small servings.

Easy-to-use sizes and shapes

The main products are available in two sizes: "small size" and "medium size," both designed to be easy to use in everyday life.
(* This page introduces the small size. You can view the medium size from here.)

The small size measures approximately 16.5 cm by 11.5 cm.
It is a large enough size to be widely used for grilled fish, sashimi, dashi eggs, tomato caprese, as a cookie dish, and so on, covering main dishes, side dishes, and desserts.

Also, the shallow shape is very convenient to use and can be used for a variety of dishes every day.

■ Handling precautions
Each piece is handmade, painted, and fired, so there may be slight individual differences in shape. We would be happy if you enjoy these unique characteristics as part of its charm. There are also individual differences on the back side.

Since the products are made of pottery, like other ceramic or denim products, repeated use may cause changes in appearance. Many people enjoy the aging of pottery as part of its flavor, but if you want to keep it close to a new condition, we recommend performing a "rest period" before use. Also, due to the nature of pottery and how you use and care for it, stains or cracks may occur. For details about the nature of pottery and care, please check here (official).

Craftsmanship Issuigama (Issuigama)

The products are handmade at "Issuigama," a workshop located in Yomitanson, central Okinawa, on the west coast.

Representative Hiroya Takasaka traveled to various countries such as India and Thailand after graduating from school, where he encountered pottery. After that, he learned the techniques and established Issuigama in 2005.

What Mr. Takasaka aims for is not just utensils for serving food but utensils that make you feel brighter and happier when using them.
When the utensils are wonderful, the dishes look delicious, and the dining experience feels special.

At Issuigama, they create while valuing the feelings of the users and the time born through the utensils.
