Continuing the tradition in Tanba, the beauty of slipware
This is the origin of Tanba-yaki, one of the six ancient kilns of Japan. While preserving climbing kilns and anagama kilns remaining in the back mountains, nowadays gas kilns are also used, combining tradition and innovation to create pottery. Especially, slipware is captivating with its strong patterns on plain clay and a warm texture. The expression rooted in the nature and scenery of Tanba richly colors everyday dining.
