Keeping the Charm of Nihonbashi at Hand – Shino Tsurukawa × Dyed by Hand

Nihonbashi, the heart of Edo, where people and culture intersected.
From soba shops and geisha houses, sushi restaurants and fish shops, to banks and old department stores – a scene of the bustling town beyond eras is depicted with warm lines and colors.
This is a handcrafted dye collaboration between designer “Shino Tsurukawa” and “Todaya Shoten.”

Folding, wrapping, and decorating – each time you use it, you can capture the lively spirit of Nihonbashi continuing from Edo.
When placed in a frame and displayed, the atmosphere of the room becomes brilliantly elegant, perfect for sparking conversations. It also suits seasonal decorations and store displays.
The design that conveys the story of Edo culture is also ideal as a gift for overseas friends or important people. It lightly delivers the “journey of Nihonbashi.”
Hand-dyed Blend “Rien Dye”
Rien Dye (Rienzome) is a hand-dyeing brand established by the old fish shop “Todaya Shoten” from the Meiji era.
Chusen dyeing is a unique traditional Japanese technique where the dye is poured onto fabric without any backing, resulting in a vivid and bright coloration. The beauty of irregularities and blurs cannot be reproduced by machine dyeing, giving it a distinctive charm.
The technique of Rien Dye excels in water absorption and quick drying, making it perfect for everyday use. The more you wash it, the softer it becomes and it fits your skin comfortably, allowing for long-lasting love and use.

The design draws from the traditional patterns of Edo and expands broadly into modern proposals that fit today’s lifestyle. Combining practicality and design, it is also ideal as a gift.
